Bird
I loved how this little guy was able to enjoy his meal, without a care in the world about all of the noise from nearby construction, and typical city hoopla.

Food Court
Yesterday, I found myself at a shopping mall food court, eating chicken cutlet from Sbarro, while Muzak versions of Bach and Dave Brubeck played on the sound system. The nice ladies at Sbarro couldn't fathom why I didn't want pasta. It was a really strange day.

Matt Pond @ Whole Foods
The song is called Love To Get Used. Matt Pond is my favorite singer-song writer. He has toiled in indie oblivion for many years. I was SHOCKED to hear his voice coming over the muzak system at Whole Foods tonight. Honestly didn't know what to do. So I recorded 60 seconds of it.

SF MUNI's Best Driver
Matt always waits for old people to sit down before he starts the bus. He announces the stops in English, Chinese and Spanish. He pronounces "Pacheco" correctly. The automated MUNI announcement doesn't, and this drives me crazy, because Pacheco is one of my family's surnames. Matt rules.

American Booty
Perfect for this bleak corner of SF: a plastic bag not flowing free in the wind, but trapped around a television antenna, atop some strange, storefront church, struggling to break free. Plastic bags, btw, are now illegal in SF.

Bracing Day at Ocean Beach
It was cold and windy at Ocean Beach. Too windy for my delta wing kite, so I spent the afternoon taking pictures, instead. I love going to the ocean in the cold weather.

We Went in Search of Frogs
There were no frogs to be found. I'm sure we were just too loud, but that doesn't mean there wasn't still fun to be had.

Lincoln to Cancun
After a family birthday party in Queens, we dropped off my mom at her place in the city. As we continued homeward, our 11yo was listening to some new favorite music and I was stoked to shoot a clip of one of my favorite NJ things: coming out of the tunnel and seeing the Manhattan skyline at night.

Birdsong and Bus Engine
I send a ridiculous amount of my time waiting for buses. I hate it. I really do. This chorus of birdsong made it a bit easier to stomach, today. Too bad the bus that came and made a racket wasn't mine. BTW, this is the same spot where the bird shit all over me a few weeks back.

Don't Be An Ass
Geocaching dud. We couldn't access Cañon de Lana, but we got to see donkeys, so it wasn't a total loss..

Chipotle
I don't go to Chipotle's often, but the people are nice and always remember me.
I felt bad, today, because I didn't have cash, and they don't allow customers to charge a tip to an ATM card. I told the cashier I felt bad about that, and that I'd drop in next week and leave a few bucks in the jar. He said, "Don't sweat it - you're a friend."

Coffee Break
This is the closest I can get to home-style cafe con leche outside of my kitchen. A double shot of espresso, topped up with French roast, and a shot of Half-and-Half. I love the women at my coffee spot. They get my espresso going as soon as they see me coming, and they let me pay later,w hen I don't have any cash.

Bus Baby
This little guy is my favorite person to run into on my long commute home. We often engage in a silent dialogue about which his mother is clueless. He likes rice cakes.

Soak
The hot tub and pool had been closed for renovations for close to six weeks. So psyched the work is done and it's a gorgeous day for a soak. Can't beat soaking in a hot tub when the air is crisp and cold.

WPA mural
The building which houses my favorite coffee and brunch spot in SF has a beautiful WPA mural. I have coffee at this place just about once a week, but I never get tired of looking at the mural, or the wonderful mosaic tiling.

Creaky Branch
Wishbone shaped branch has been hanging and rocking since the "Halloween" storm of 2011. Hurricane Sandy had nothing on this sucker. Landlord can't deal. I hope no one is underneath when it brings the branch it's killing (softly) down.

The Wheels on the Bus
This project is forcing me to take note of just how much time I spend riding buses, especially around Lake Merced, which has got to be the prettiest bus route in SF.
